Our Story

In 1946 World War II ended and the US troops were finally home. Having learned the tire business from his older brothers, Charlie Brilliant set up shop in Dorchester. Tires were sold and repaired. The price was right and the service was great. Soon word spread and customers were coming from all the surrounding towns. A good reputation was built and satisfied customers were telling their friends and neighbors where to go to get their automobiles serviced. It didn’t take long. Many locals from Dorchester, South Boston and Quincy were driving over to the “new shop in town.” The key to success was the SERVICE, SERVICE, PERSONAL SERVICE.

Upon Charlie’s retirement his sons, Harvey and Michael, established Brilliant Tire Corp. in 1978. Staying true to their father’s vision, the sons continue to offer personal service to the community the family has called home for over 70 years.

Our two stores, Brilliant Tire in Neponset Circle, Boston and Washington Street, Quincy have grown by continuing to use that same formula for the last three decades. Even though today’s motor vehicles have become increasingly more technical and sophisticated, our business motto still remains “old school.” Our customers are not just credit cards. Our customers are relationships and, yes, we still provide SERVICE, SERVICE, and SERVICE.

“Hands On” experience has taught us a lot over the years. We have expanded and added those automotive services which are necessary to keep those tires, cars, suvs, and trucks performing and handling through the erratic weather and road conditions here in the Northeast.
